Native Wildflower Bee Bomb
Here at Westgate we're passionate about encouraging biodiversity and we love these gorgeous little bags of bee magic! Scatter them over a patch of ground at the yard or in your garden or spread the love by giving a bag as a thoughtful little giftand seeing the wildflowers grow.
Bee bombs are seedballs of clay and compost that contain thousands of seeds of 18 native wildflower species that are ideal for encouraging bees. They require no gardening skill and can be scattered straight onto open ground at any time of the year. Once scattered, Beebombs just need lots of water, sun and time. Wildflowers are hardy and adaptable but slow growers. This means that they can be out-competed by faster growing grasses and perennial weeds at the critical early stages, so straight onto soil is best if possible. The soil will help your Beebombs germinate and the clay will protect them as they dissipate. Lots of sun and rain is of course important, as is time.
97% of native British Wildflower habitat has been lost since World War 2, important habitats for bees and butterflies. This is a serious loss for us all. With Beebombs you can re-create these lost habitats and crucial biodiversity to help bring back the bees!
