Test based parasite control allows us to target the wormers we give our horses, treating only those that need it in the herd. This minimises the exposure to the worming chemicals and dramatically slows down the worrying levels of resistance that are developing to all our licenced products.
Worming this way is better for our horses, the environment (all wormers are eco-toxic) and test based programmes often work out more cost effective than outdated blanket chemical plans.
But it's not just the reliability of the test that is important, it's what you do with it that counts! All of our return packaging is composted and used to plant trees in a 130 acre nature reserve we're establishing here on our farm.

Test Kits
Test kits can be purchased as you need them online through our online shop. Worm egg counts and EquiSal tapeworm tests are the two checks that we would suggest you use regularly with incidental tests such as reduction tests, pinworm, lungworm and liver fluke tests conducted as you need them.

If you're following a targeted programme then it can be more cost effective to plan your test programme for the year ahead with a Westgate Labs 4Count or 4Count PLUS pack. These contain everything to take and send 4 x worm egg counts and the PLUS packs have the addition of 2 x EquiSal tapeworm tests. Refill and single option packs are also available.
